This guide will take you through setting up Deluge 2, its configuration and setting up autodl-irssi to maximize your speed and peering on torrents.
Install Deluge 2
Installing Deluge 2 is pretty straight forward. Be aware that the installation can take quite some time the first time you install it, as there are a lot of dependancies and packages to build and install. All this happens automatically, once you hit the [install] button on Deluge 2 via your dashboard.
Configure Deluge 2
Once Deluge 2 is installed you can open it via your Dashboard. You`ll need to input your password on Deluge 2 as well, be sure to copy it from your Dashboard for easy access.
Enable the watchdir
First, go to [Plugins] and check the box in front of AutoAdd. Hit Apply and a new option on the left will pop up, beneath Blocklist. Your screen will look like this:
Next, go to [AutoAdd] in the list on the left and add the watchdir (we are using the seedit4me defaults here) by clicking on the [+ Add] button. The following settings will work fine:
Hit [Add] and Deluge 2 will now monitor the directry you've put in there for new *.torrent files.
Tweak settings
Up top click on and select [ItConfig] on the left side of the new window. Be sure to tick the box [Apply settings on startup], select [High Performance Seed] from the drop down menu and click Load Preset. Your settings should look like below, be sure to hit [Apply] and then [OK].
Configure autodl-irssi or Autobrr
This part might be a bit confusing, so let us explain first: autodl-irssi isn't able to communicate with Deluge 2 directly. The common 'fix' is to just configure autodl-irssi via ruTorrent, and have it put the torrents that it hits on in the Deluge 2 watchdir. You can just setup autodl-irssi as you would otherwise, the only thing that is different is the part where autodl-irssi puts the torrent. You can use the Deluge 2 watchdir for that. If you haven't changed it, that is: /home/seedit4me/dwatch/
To input this directory into autodl-irssi, first open up ruTorrent and then head over to settings and then hit preferences and setup the tab [Action] like follows:
As explained before, this will let ruTorrent handle autodl-irssi, but the torrents that hit on the filter(s) you set will be added to Deluge 2 instead of ruTorrent. Please make sure to set a Delay of at least 40 seconds on your filters, to prevent Deluge 2 from trying to download a torrent that isn't available on the tracker yet (due to delays on the tracker side).
Autobrr
This is a new app and will work direct with deluge just follow the guide here
