FAQ Category: Technical
There are many reasons for app's to fail on install from there repo being offline to a system conflict
the first thing you should do if an app is slowing Installing after 20 mins click cancel restart your seedbox and then remove and reinstall the app
if you have installed and app and it fails to load Uninstall and Reinstall
If this fails open a ticket and we will look in to it for you
If you can not reset your password or have forgot your user name do the following
then go on SSH and do
and sudo rm system.xml
then sudo rm -R users
then reinstall Emby
and it should all be reset to default
As i am sure your aware when it comes to FTP speeds it can be hit and miss due to peering or network issues
Now you can try to restart your seedbox and your home PC router ect but some times it just does not help
Well there is one more thing you can do that we have tested and it works Very well
Install Rclone on your seedbox
the only change you need to make to the video is if your account does not show other on google set it to desktop both ways work
if you have a unlimited team drive click click Y when it asks you to set it up
Now you can send your data to Gdrive and just download from there using the google servers as they have them all over the world you get alot better peering and speeds
If you get fail to connect try to restart your seedbox !!
If your ftp speeds are slow please do the following before contacting us
First step try another ftp client like FlashFXP Cuteftp winscp ect and see if you get better speeds with them
also make sure we are added to your allow rules on your firewall and AV
if this does not help please follow the guide below
For us to troubleshoot your issue we need some more information.
Please use a program such as MTR to send us traces over 1000 packets in both directions (client -> server; server -> client) for the problematic connection during the time in which the issue occurs.
Our network department requests both traces (client -> server and server -> client) to make a qualified analysis of your problematic case.
MTR is a diagnostic tool which can be used to determine which routers transmit data packets onto the destination host and which routers may be experiencing problems.
For Windows, "WinMTR" can be downloaded free of charge (via http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/ ).
On windows once downloaded just add your seedbox URL ie gsb1.seedit4.me or your server IP and hit start once it has been running for 15 minutes send us the results
For Linux, MTR can be installed using the appropriate package manager for your distribution.
On your seedbox Enable SSH and do the following
sudo apt-get install mtr
type your seedbox password
Once installed type
mtr and your home ip ( ie mtr 123.456.345.1)
leave it running for 15 minutes and then either take a screen shot of the results using [PrntScr](https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html) and paste the link here for us to check
Once we have the requested information we will be able to advice you on the next steps that are needed to resolve your problem!
If you have got your Hardrive to 100% there is not room for the OS to run
this will cause rutorrent to crash error 502
or Bad response from server: (0 [error, getplugins]).
to fix this you can go on via FTP or SSH and delete some content to get under 100% everything will then return to normal you can not get on FTP and do not know how to use SSH you can open a support ticket and we will add a few GB to your slow for a few hours to allow you to clean up
We offer you quite a unique feature within the world of seedboxes: the ability to forward ports to your seedbox. You an do so by opening the slot you want to forward a port on, and then scroll down to 'Advanced features'.
There you will find the option to manage your port forwards. To add a new port you can click on 'Request new port'. The page will refresh and afterwards you can find your external port and set the internal port your applications will use.
If you want to install ZNC and want to add a port, you can request a new port first. The external port is the port you will use to connect to the webui and the actual client from outside your box. The internal port is the one you will use to setup your ZNC client.
Please keep in mind that ports are not instantly opened, but we run a cronjob every 15 minutes to do so. You can see the status next to the 'custom rule' text.
The different statuses are:
- Inactive: your port is not requested yet.
- Updating: your port is in queue and is waiting on the Cronjob to run.
- Active: your port is fowarded and should work normally.
To find this
Click the first app tile Seedit4me panel this will load a webui
then click downloads and your torrent client
this will load a https list that you can download or even stream your content from
This is caused as rutorrent saves some data on your browser just clear your browser cache and it will worj fine
There are a few ways to move data i will list them in the order that i pref to do it myself
1) Download FlashFXP ( you can get a 30 day test for free ) then load up both your old and new seedbox and drag and drop the files you want to copy, I would go to /seedit4me/torrents/rtorrent and then do Ctrl A to select all and drop in to the same folder on the new server ( if you get any fails you just right click and click reset all failed) this is by far the quickest way you can also turn off rutorrent on your new slot and copy over your .seesions folder and then turn rutorrent back on and it will reload all your active torrents
If using Ver 5.4.0 or higher you might need to change one setting so it does not use your home upload speed
Site Manager , Transfer , Site to Site method, and make sure it is on Direct (FXP)
2) Resilio Sync your find this on your dash under app's install it on both seedboxes, Then go to your current box and open the app
1. Click Create Identity i just leave it as seedit4me
2. Top Left click the + sign
3. Click standard folder and point it to where your data is ie /home/seedit4me/torrents/rrorrent and click open
4. Click Key and copy the key
5. With the key you just copied go yto your new seedbox open the app and do step 1 and 2 again
6.Click Enter Key and paste the key you copied there and then point it to where you want the data to go ie /home/seedit4me/torrents/rrorrent
thats it leave it to move the data for you
3) SFTP https://my.seedit4.me/faq/8
1) Plex does not load on my Browser but works on incognito mode
This is a known issue with plex it is caused by your broswer not letting go of old plex servers
1) Shutdown/exit/close all Chrome windows/instances,
2) Find the location of your Chrome profile: https://www.howtogeek.com/255653/how-to-find-your-chrome-profile-folder-on-windows-mac-and-linux/ 2 This can also be accomplished by visiting the URI chrome://version and checking for the “Profile Path:”,
3) Move the profile folder somewhere out of the way (or delete it if you really don’t care about having a backup),
4) Open Chrome and complete initial setup.
And that’s it! If you have sync setup, it will automatically restore all synced content…
2) My plex is freezing on playback
This can be a hard one to pinpoint but in short it is caused by your home download speed, If your trying to watch a say a 4k movie this can need your download speed at home to be 80Mbps or more,
If you can not download this fast or the peering is off your seedbox will transcode the file using the servers cpu to Downgrade the stream for you to watch it.
You can adjust the setting on the movie to 1080 or 720p and this should stop the freezing,
long term The best thing you can do is download 720 or 1080p files. As we can not control your home speeds or the peering to you
Also please check out this plex guide https://forums.plex.tv/t/info-plex-4k-transcoding-and-you-aka-the-rules-of-4k/378203
you also need to make sure your using direct streaming see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1XKv8-RNwU
To access the plex plugins folder you need to use either STFP or SSH ( NOT just ftp )
with ssh you just go to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-ins or /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins and download or move your plugin there
But for a more simple way
Download the plugin you want to your pc then open SFTP with your ftp client
go to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins
and just upload your plugins and restart plex
We get alot of tickets about this so i wanted to make a quick post explaining all is fine! Also please make sure to look at the 3rd row down Real Ram that is the one that matters !
What's going on?
Linux is borrowing unused memory for disk caching. This makes it looks like you are low on memory, but you are not! Everything is fine!
Why is it doing this?
Disk caching makes the system much faster and more responsive! There are no downsides. It does not take memory away from applications in any way, ever!
What if I want to run more applications?
If your applications want more memory, they just take back a chunk that the disk cache borrowed. Disk cache can always be given back to applications immediately! You are not low on ram!
Do I need more swap?
No, disk caching only borrows the ram that applications don't currently want. It will not use swap. If applications want more memory, they just take it back from the disk cache. They will not start swapping.
How do I stop Linux from doing this?
You can't disable disk caching. The only reason anyone ever wants to disable disk caching is because they think it takes memory away from their applications, which it doesn't! Disk cache makes applications load faster and run smoother, but it NEVER EVER takes memory away from them! Therefore, there's absolutely no reason to disable it!
Why does top and free say all my ram is used if it isn't?
This is just a difference in terminology. Both you and Linux agree that memory taken by applications is "used", while memory that isn't used for anything is "free".
But how do you count memory that is currently used for something, but can still be made available to applications?
You might count that memory as "free" and/or "available". Linux instead counts it as "used", but also "available"
This "something" is (roughly) what top and free calls "buffers" and "cached". Since your and Linux's terminology differs, you might think you are low on ram when you're not.
This is Follow on Guide to the
You Must do that first
Connect to your seedbox using the host and port found on your dash under SSH
Do NOT use port 22 you have a custom port like 2050
Type cd torrents
SSH using PuTTY (as SU)
remove # next to the following lines:
mount_max = 1000
press ctrl o
then ctrl x
Wait a while then reload SSH
SSH using PuTTY (this time as Seedit4me)
rclone mount gdrive: ~/torrents/gdrive --allow-other --buffer-size 256M --dir-cache-time 96h --timeout 1h --umask 002 --daemon
replace 'gdrive:'' with the name you gave your remote drive
replace '~/torrents/gdrive' with the folder you created
Go to your dash Disable Plex and Enable again from the power button on the APP
Go to plex click your server and Go to Manage Libraries and Add a Folder and go to /home/seedit4me/torrents/gdrive
Add and save
That is it your Gdrive is mounted and Plex/Emby can see it
If at any time you restart your seedbox you need to go to SSH and paste
rclone mount gdrive: /torrents/gdrive --allow-other --buffer-size 256M --dir-cache-time 96h --timeout 1h --umask 002 --daemon
to remount the drive
This is caused by Ombi not removing the config files when it is uninstalled
the easy fix for this is to go on SSH wit ha client like Putty and do the following
Uninstall Ombi from your dash
login to SSH using putty or shell in a box app
type the following
sudo rm -R etc/Ombi
it will ask you to confirm your seedbox password
how go to your url /ombi/Wizard
now reinstall on your dash and it should all be reset to default
If your getting errors on Sonarr like the following
ImportApprovedEpisodes Couldn't import episode /home/seedit4me/Downloads/complete/name.S03E05.1080p.WEB.H264-XLF/xxxxxxx.mkv: Access to the path "/home/seedit4me/media/serier/name/Season 3/Westworld - S03E05 - Genre WEBDL-1080p.mkv.partial~" is denied.
ImportApprovedEpisodes Couldn't import episode /home/seedit4me/Downloads/complete/name.1080p..WEB-DL.DDP5.1.H.264-QOQ-AsRequested/xxxxx.mkv: Access to the path "/home/seedit4me/media/seriername - S02E01 - name WEBDL-1080p.mkv.partial~" is denied. 1
This is caused by a setting in Sabnzbd
go to Sabnzbd config top right
Click on Folders and then Advanced
in the box Permissions for completed downloads type 777 and then save changes
that is it it should now work for you
This error can also happen if you have imported folders and files to your seedbox
to fix this you can go on ftp and right click on the folder and set it to 777
or you can do it via SSH by doing the following
sudo chmod -R 777 /home/seedit4me/path to the folder
With these instructions, you can easily stream the content from your seedbox via Kodi/XBMC.
Steps to set it up:
1) Select Videos in the Kodi main menu
2) Select 'Files'
3) Select 'Add Videos...'
4) Click the 'Browse' button
5) Select 'Add network location...' in the bottom
6) Fill out the fields as follows:
Protocol: Web server directory (HTTPS)
Server address: XXX.seedit4.me (XXX is to be replaced with your seedbox number ie 756.99.gsb you will find this under host on your dash)
Remote path: rtorrent.downloads or the path you store your files
Username: <seedbox username>
Password: <seedbox password>
7) Once filled out, click 'OK'
8) In the 'Enter a name for this media source', you can give source a description name such as 'Seedbox files'. Once done click the 'OK' button
Now the 'Seedbox files' should appear as a file entry in the video source list. Simply click it, and you will have a complete view of the content of your seedbox.
the other way is via Ftp
1) go to system and click file manager
2) Select Add source
3) Click the 'Browse' button
4) Select 'Add network location...' in the bottom
5) Fill out the fields as follows:
Protocol: Web server directory (FTP)
Server address: XXX.seedit4.me (XXX is to be replaced with your seedbox number ie 99.gsb you will find this under host on your dash)
Remote path: /torrents/rtorrent or the path you store your files
Port You ftp port from your dash
Username: <seedbox username>
Password: <seedbox password>
Save and it will be added
NOTES FOR USERS WITH BUFFERING
In some cases you see short periods of buffering, the reason for this is that KODI is not caching any data but simply streaming as it needs to.
Sometimes you will have scenes where the need for data is higher than the speed you can download new material from the server, in those cases buffering will occur, to get around this it is possible to let KODI cache more data to avoid buffering in scenes which require a higher bandwidth.
You can read more about how to do it on the KODI website here: http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache
Q. Where are your seedboxes located ?
A. Our servers are located in Germany
Q. Are the servers Unlimited ?
A. Yes we do not have limits
Q. How many users Per server ?
A. It depends on the plan you order but we make sure to never overload the servers, Our top plans have a Max of 2 users per HDD.
Q. What HDD's do you use ?
A. All our servers have SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm HDD's
Q. Do you offer any kind of redundancy ?
A. No the cost of this would be far to high while hardware failures are rare they do happen and all your data can be lost if there is data on the seedbox you must have please keep your own backup's
Q. How much Ram does the server have ?
A. The servers come with either 32 or 64GB ram but the ram you see on the plan you order is dedicated to you.
Q. Do you allow Public Trackers ?

From the terminal you can use next command:
unrar e -r /home/seedit4me/folder/myfile.rar
Or, the following command if you want to preserve the directory structure too:
unrar x -r /home/seedit4me/folder/myfile.rar
changing folder/myfile.rar to your folder and file name and hit enter
Thank you to Nope1234 for making this guide
This is for those who have already claimed their Plex server on seedit4me.
A guide for those who want to update Plex and would like to upgrade their server to the newest release before the system os updates
First, enable SSH through the seedit4me dashboard.
Windows using Putty
on putty put your ip and port found on your dash under SSH
connect to your seedbox login as seedit4me and your password is your seedbox password
type sudo apt update && apt upgrade -y
once this is done type sudo box update
thats it you should be fully updated
Login by entering your seedbox connection details, listed in the SSH area. It'll list your connection details as: [email protected] I used iTerminal for iOS. iTerminal wouldn't allow me to connect without a password; enter any password here, it doesn't matter. If you're unsure which one to use, try Putty. Keep in mind that if you muttle with SSH too much and mess things up, your only option is to restore your seedbox to original settings, losing all of your current content. If you keep to the instructions listed here, you should be fine.
Once connected, type in the following:
apt-get update && apt-get install plexmediaserver -y
You'll be asked for a password after entering sudo -s, with the prompt:
[sudo] password for seedit4me: seedit4me pwd
If you entered the password correctly, you'll be prompted with:
Now enter the command in the second bulletpoint. If successful, you'll see the second to last line as shown:
PlexMediaServer install: PlexMediaServer-x.xx.x.xxxx-xxxxx Installation successful. Errors: 0, Warnings: 0
type in exit to get out of sudo, type in exit again to close the SSH session.
Verify that the update has occurred via the web browser.
Perform this procedure whenever you have a Plex update that's not available to the public.
Right now we are using Ubuntu 16.04 inside of OpenVZ
We have been asked by clients if we can change this OS to one of the clients choice this can not be done as it will break the main scripts we use
We are working on an update to 18.04 that we hope will be ready soon
