We should post news more often, so here's a quick update for the tech-minded people who like to know all the details.
PHP has come a long way - and in terms of performance - has made some amazing progress in recent versions, to the point where it now compiles straight to machine code.
Not only our site, workers and most of the backend are running on JIT-compiled or op-cached and preloaded PHP 8.0, this week we've updated all new Seedboxes to latest PHP 8.0 as well, which has caused a few minor issues with 2 rutorrent plugins and Nextcloud.
Sadly not all developers are keeping their apps as up to date, so we've had to patch things ourselves as usual. Nextcloud is using a lot of incompatible code, so our fix in that case was installing PHP 7.3 alongside with 8.0, used only by Nextcloud. Apart from that, the update went pretty smoothly and we are on par with swizzin master branch again. That's all for now, enjoy and come hang out on discord.seedit4.me !
